We are proud to announce the promotion of Floyd Rinehold to Manager of SLCM-N Section in the Maritime and Security Division (M&S).
Floyd will be responsible for the management and oversight of The JRC’s SLCM-N Team. The SLCM-N program is responsible for developing the next generation Tactical Nuclear Cruise Missile for employment on submarines. Floyd will coordinate with stakeholders such as NAVSEA PMA 280/281, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, Raytheon, John Hopkins/APL, MITRE, Draper, the SWF’s, the Submarine Fleet both Pacific and Atlantic, and the Component Commanders (Responsible for employing the weapons along with STRATCOM).
Since joining JRC, Floyd has been a Senior Analyst performing various duties such as a Fleet Liaison Officer and lead contractor to support multiple Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts for Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs. Floyd also conducts inspections and evaluations of Force Protection and Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) onboard the TPP Blocking Vessels, and Operational Readiness Assessments. Floyd was also the original author of the Asset Tracking Program that was later developed into a software program by The JRC Software Team. Today, this program supports the SWF’s Armored Fighting Vehicle program. For the last three years, Floyd has been serving as the Task Lead for the SP32 team. With the projected growth of the SLCM-N program, Floyd is the ideal leader to develop next generation technologies that will help our customer achieve their most challenging goals.
When asked about his experience working at JRC, Floyd said, “I have been very blessed to have landed at JRC following my Navy career. I was a bit lost and was looking for a place that felt like family again and JRC filled that role for me. I have been lucky enough to have been given opportunities within the M&S Division that afforded me the ability to grow personally and professionally opening the opportunity to become a manager for SLCM-N. I express all of time to people outside of JRC how supportive and understanding the leadership of JRC has been for me and my family. JRC truly believes in taking care of family first. I am excited to have been provided this opportunity and look forward to leading the SLCM-N team to unparalleled success for JRC and our customer. “
Outside of JRC, Floyd and his family spend as much time as they can hunting, fishing, and camping. Floyd and his wife love to enjoy the great outdoors and share those experiences with their grandchildren Floyd and his wife enjoy a homesteading lifestyle, with a functioning farm providing nearly 90% of their food. Floyd mentioned that, “Although a very time consuming and challenging lifestyle, it is unbelievably rewarding and healthy”.
