This year marks the 14th year JRC will come together to run the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon and 10K for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). Running each year as a JRC Family has become a beloved tradition for our organization. Each year, we train mentally and physically to take on an exercise less than one percent of the population can do. I am honored that we as an organization contribute to this one percent.
Over the years, we have donated over $85K to the TAPS mission. While I am personally proud of this contribution, I am equally proud of the physical commitment so many JRC employees have made to honor our fallen heroes and their families. The physical strength and endurance required to finish such a race is nothing to take lightly.
We invite all JRC employees, family members of our workforce, and our government and industry partners to consider running with us for this most honorable cause. The contributions we gather will directly support the TAPS initiative, offering a remarkable array of resources, seminars, and publications to these families. TAPS delivers these services free of charge to survivors across all military branches, including the Reserves and National Guard. The programs and services of TAPS extend beyond immediate family members to include extended family and friends. Your support in this endeavor helps us pay tribute to our fallen heroes. Every donation, regardless of size, is valuable.
As an organization, we often talk about the concept of service before self, reinforcing the importance of helping the teammates to the left and right of us; asking ourselves how can I support their success? For those of you choosing to join us this year, know that you are taking on an incredible feat by choosing to do what is hard and by choosing to help teammates in need. In this scenario our teammates are those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. You are running for our military heroes and for their families. You are raising both funds and awareness, so our teammates know that they are not forgotten. You are running for their success.
Please consider joining us this year to be part of the elite 1 percent who choose to do what is hard. As a JRC employee, we do not shy away from what is difficult; we face it head on. Most importantly, the hard work we commit to is done together. If you choose to run, let us push through those difficult moments as one team. Together, I know we can save the world one step at a time.

Select “Join Team” on the right-hand side. The 10K and marathon is on October 27th, 2024, so there is still time to train. Others are welcome to run for JRC employees, we just ask that they work with us in raising support for TAPS programs. The fundraising requirement for runners is a team effort where we all work together toward a combined goal. JRC will match all donations to TAPS.
